Understanding about what not to eat while pregnant during pregnancy can help your child grow better in his/her life. Understanding about the foods you should avoid during pregnancy is very important, especially for your baby.

More foods you should avoid while you are pregnant are
  • Unwashed Vegetables and Fruits
     To eliminate the harmful bacteria, thoroughly wash all raw vegetables and fruits and cut the damaged parts. You should also avoid all kinds of raw sprouts that may contain pathogenic bacteria.
  • Liver in High Quantity
Actually, liver is good for you during pregnancy. But if you consume it in high quantity, it is not good. Why? Because liver contains vitamin A in big number, and consume too much vitamin A can cause birth defects.
  • Caffeine, Herbal Tea, and Alcohol
The effect of caffeine is on your baby’s heart rate because caffeine can cross the placenta. According to some studies, drinking too much caffeine may cause decrease in birth weight or an increased risk of miscarriages and stillborn baby.
Be careful on herbs drink because a little data show the bad effect of herbs on baby’s growth.  Some kinds of herbal teas, such red raspberry leaf can cause contraction.

Pregnant women who drink alcohol, like too much caffeine, may have a higher risk of miscarriage and stillbirth. Drinking alcohol too much while you are pregnant may result a danger risk for your baby, like fetal alcohol syndrome, heart problems, and low birth weight even mental retardation.

If you are not sure about what not to eat while pregnant, you can ask your doctor to make a list of items to avoid.
